Christian testimonies: Rejoining a Family in Christ
Greetings to you all. It has been quite a while since I shared anything on this blog. Often, people like to use the phrase, 'silence is golden.' I have surely had some golden moments, much to remember.
Two weeks ago, I was in Mayerton, where I spent the greater part of the month catching up with old friends and family. I met my cousin who had just welcomed a new addition to his family, a wife and child he named 'Roman.' It's amazing how we can all find time to reconnect at various points in our journey and experience God and what He has done for us. It's like planting a tree and leaving it for a while. If God allows you to see what that seed has become, you can only admire the tapestry enveloped in God's grand design.
I also spent time with an old friend, a brother, Marc, who stayed with me and the De Beers. Tian, as usual, was the chef, expressing his gift of serving by cooking wonderful food. The Cronjes and the du Preezs also joined us for a beautiful weekend. Fellowshipping with brethren reminded me of the time we had in East London, 'The East London reunion.'
A week later, I spent time with the Niemans, where I met Jak and his wife, avid believers serving other brethren to carry out the work of the Kingdom of God. It was great to see Marc again and meet his fiancée, Carly. I also met Carly's mom, Sandra, whom I had encountered at a Kickstart event last year in Newcastle. It's such a small world, and God connects people in amazing ways.
Fast forward to now, I am in George. Hopefully, God willing, we will be blessed to see Marc and Carly join hands in matrimony. There is much I want to share with you, old friends; time is usually my greatest enemy. I'll share more in the coming days. The Lord has been gracious, seeing us through our travel to George. Against all odds, we managed to reach the promised land, even after a tire burst, which brought us together to change the caravan's flat tire. I also thank God for the Good Samaritan who stopped to help us. Can you believe we got a flat tire right next to a tire repair shop? Interesting, you might say.
As much as I've talked about the characters in my story, I'd like to make a special mention of the De Beer family, whom God blessed me to travel with. We've had an awesome adventure together, sharing both the good and the worst of times. Tian, Elmi, and their four children have shown a lot of character in what a Christian family is all about. Thanks for following our journey so far. I'm excited for our next installment of what God has been doing.
All the best.
