Christian testimonies : The return to George (Part one)

Updated: Nov 30, 2023

Greetings to you once more. It gives me such joy to share about what Christ has been doing in my life so far. At the time of writing, my journey has led me to George, a place I once called my temporary home during the middle of the year. I recall the time when God blessed me with a small garden that became my place of refuge in the early hours of the day, "my small garden of Eden", a place I came to fellowship with God. The little children often helped me in tending for this blessing.

A few months down the time-line, I returned and perhaps to fulfill the assignment that God set out for me here. It is surprising how I have shared the gospel with several people in the two weeks gone by starting with Victoria Bay where perhaps I found peace in sitting with a man named Ricardo with whom God had said I should bless with something to eat that morning. The Lord had not told me for whom the meal would be for and as Ricardo sat nearer to listen to the sound of the gospel which I had been playing on my speaker, I began to share the gospel with him before he could ask me for something to eat which I offered him. Minutes later someone blessed him with some money for the day. His prayer for the day had been answered. We parted ways but from the events that happened he could see the hand of God.

Now while walking back, there was a bus whose passenger seemed to be all German. Somehow, I felt I had to stop so I noticed that the bus was too large in length and would be unable to cross over. While all this was happening, I began to speak the maximum number of German words I knew. "Guten Tag. Ich bin Bradley". Looking at each other they smiled and asked to take a picture of the yellow cross I was carrying. They asked amoungst each other if this was one of Jesus disciples.

As I walked away, they waved at me. Some still taking photographs. I was only glad Jesus was making a difference in someones life.

The next day I returned to the beach and met some surfers who made fun of me and my cross. Now one of them called Stephen, ended up hearing the gospel and realised how serious the issue of his salvation was. Yes, he wasn't alone, my presence at the beach that day had sparked interest for those present. "Who is that strange man and why is he carrying the cross with a wheel on it". I met a couple that asked me if I had a church and I said to them that the streets is where I gather with the saints to discuss spiritual matters. I am not confined to a building but I go where the gospel needs preaching. Now Jesus will build his church not me. I am just a tool being applied. Then suddenly the couple remembered me from my last visit. I was the same man walking with cross months earlier.

Fast forward to the coming days, I met Jannie. Now, I had taken my walk to town and had managed to share the gospel with people from different walks of life. Anyway Jannie stops me and asks me for my testimony which I began sharing telling him about my humble beginnings which led to me being born again before I started evangelism. Now when I mentioned Tian as one of the characters to my story, he immediately began to try and connect the dots. Well the dots became more clearer when he remembered that he had met Tian a while ago. What a small world I tell you. Even Tian was surprised when I shared this story with him. Man, God is good.

I just wanted to conclude by welcoming all my brethren who joined us this week. That is Shaun and his family who I had met in Harties as well as Miriam who is from Germany and travelling with them. I also caught up with Marc and Carly during the week. Well, the week had its ups and downs but I am still running the race. Thanks for all the support from the George community and also the Bears who are my adopted family in Christ.

I have been praying for my father who had been cleared of cancer a week ago. Thank you Jesus. I give thanks to my sister who is in the United Kingdom. She has several articles and helps me to co-write some of the blog's content.

I pray that the week coming will be awesome and that it will be a blessing to you. Let's keep going inspite of the persecution and the suffering. We will see the promised land.

Amen
