Bible Study Week: The love of God the creator and His Creation.

Updated: Oct 29, 2023

Greetings to all our friends around the world. This week, we're continuing our study of the book of Job. Just as a reminder, we've learned that sometimes things happen in our lives that we don't understand. But God allows them, and in the end, He makes everything right. Job's story is an example for us, showing how God's way of doing things always protects those who do right.

Last time, we read from Chapter 1 to Chapter 9 of the book of Job. This week, we'll go on and read the next chapters.

In Job Chapter 10, verses 1-7, we meet a man who is really struggling. He even wishes he was never born. He wonders if he did something to make God so angry with him. He realizes that no one can rescue him from God's hand. In verse 8, Job says that God made him and shaped him. What's really touching is when Job says that God molded him like clay. He asks God if He will just turn him back into dust again. You know, in the Bible, God is often compared to a potter. Making pottery takes time and skill, and it serves a purpose.

A pot is made for a reason. Its shape and form match what it's meant for. Pots that kings and queens use are beautifully decorated, but a poor person's pot is simple. Right from the start, in Genesis 2:7, God created humans from dust and breathed life into them. So, in a way, we're like clay that God shapes, just like Job says in verse 9. Apostle Paul talks about this too in 2 Timothy 2:21. He says God made us into special containers, set us apart, and made us useful for good things. So, Job asks God if He'll just destroy something He made so carefully and easily. We should ask ourselves the same thing when we feel like God has left us. Imagine if you spent a long time making something beautiful, and you really liked it. Would you want to destroy it? If we, who are not always good, protect things we love, think about how much more God does for us, His special creations. Everything that happens in our lives is in God's hands, and He's shaping us like a potter does with clay, every single day.

In verses 11 and 12, Job says that God dressed him with skin and flesh, and put together his bones and muscles. This shows how good God is at creating. Even after the creation is done, Job says that God gives life, shows kindness, and watches over us carefully (verse 12). Job also knows that God sees all the wrong things people do, and no one gets away with it. That's why, back in the garden of Eden, when Adam and Eve did wrong, we were all going to die. No wrong could just be forgotten. But God, in His kindness, made a way for us to come back to Him through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He loved His creation so much that He didn't want it to be ruined, so He made a good way for people to come back to Him.

In verses 18-22, Job wishes he was never born, and he curses the day he was born. He feels like God is watching him very closely. He asks God to look away, so he, Job, can be happy for a little while before he dies. It was because God was watching Job so closely that Satan wanted to hurt him. Satan wanted to destroy what God loved, so he set a trap for Job. He took away everything from Job, thinking Job would get angry with God. In a way, Job's story is like a picture of how God loved His creation, how Satan was jealous and tried to hurt what God loved, how man suffers as a result of this, and how God makes everything right in the end. So, if you ever wonder why bad things happen that don't make sense, think about Job's story and how it all happened. Remember, even when things seem really hard, God loves His creation, and He'll always make things right in the end.

May the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you , may the Father's love be with you, and may the Holy Spirit fellowship with you.
